Cardinals Drop a Close Game to Mary Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University field hockey team fell to the University of Mary Washington, 1-0, in nonconference play on Tuesday.

Mary Washington (6-2) scored 21 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Eagles held that lead for the remainder of the game.

Senior Hannah Schied led the team with three shots. Sophomore Kelly Cancelmo tallied two shots, one of which was on goal. Sophomore goalie Kim McGroary recorded six saves.

Catholic returns to the field on Saturday, September 29 for a Landmark Conference matchup against Drew University.
