WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Catholic University field hockey team won their second Landmark Conference game of the season with a 4-1 win over Susquehanna.

Sophomore Jess Waite tallied two goals for the Cardinals, while sophomore Kelly Cancelmo and senior Hannah Schied both added one. Senior Lane Adams and freshman Katie Murphy each recorded one assist.

The Cardinals scored all three goals of the first half within three minutes of each other. Cancelmo scored the first goal 16 minutes into the game to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. The goal marks her first of the season. Just two minutes later, Jess Waite stepped up to score off of a pass across the circle from Adams, before Schied added the last goal of the half 20 seconds later, giving the Cards a 3-0 lead.

Waite scored her second goal of the game assisted by Murphy five minutes into the second half, before Susquehanna responded with their only goal, making the score 4-1.

Catholic's defense had an impressive performance only allowing three shots. Freshman Maysen Elliot earned her first career start, recording 1 save for the Cardinals.

Catholic will return to the field on Wednesday, October 10 as they welcome Landmark Conference opponent Goucher at 7 p.m. game.
