Women's Lacrosse Announces 2018 Slate

WASHINGTON - Head Coach Meghan McDonogh of The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team has announced the team's 2018 schedule. 

The Cardinals reached the 2017 NCAA Regional Semifinals and finished in ranked No. 13 nationally in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) end-of-season poll. This season McDonogh has stacked their nonconference schedule with six opponents from the IWLCA top-20 list.

For the fourth straight year, Catholic opens its season against Salisbury University, which finished 2017 ranked No. 9 by the IWLCA. The Cardinals travel to the Seagulls on Saturday, February 24 for a 1 p.m., contest.

Catholic is set to host Rowan for their home opener on Saturday, March 10 at 12 p.m., followed by a neutral site game against No. 17 Cortland State at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md., on Wednesday, March 14.

After facing the Red Dragons, the Cardinals travel to No. 3 Washington & Lee (March 17) and No. 7 Franklin & Marshall. They host No. 8 York on Tuesday, March 17 and No. 16 Mary Washington on Wednesday, April 25.

Catholic opens league play on the road versus Drew University on Saturday, March 24. The reigning Landmark Conference Champions host Scranton (March 12), Juniata (Apr. 14), Goucher (Apr. 18) and Moravian (Apr. 21). The Cardinals travel to Susquehanna on April 7 and close out their 2018 regular season slate at Elizabethtown on April 28.

The Landmark Conference semifinals are set for Wednesday, May 2 followed by the Championship Finals on Saturday, May 5.

All-Region sections Nicolette Crisalli and Erin Dugan along with All-Landmark selection Jessica Lyons return to the field for the Cardinals this season. In addition to their 21 returners, McDonogh has added nine players to the Cardinals' roster to continue their quest for the NCAA Championship Title.
