Cardinals' Five-Game Unbeaten Streak Snapped at Five

WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Catholic University women's soccer team's saw its unbeaten streak stopped at five as it dropped a 4-0 nonconference contest at McDaniel on Tuesday afternoon, 4-0.

In terms of offensive chances, the Cardinals (8-4-3) kept things tight with the Green Terror, taking nine shots to McDaniel's twelve and creating two fewer corner kick opportunities with three. 

Junior Bella Bertoncini led the team with two shots in her 90 minutes of play. Sophomores Krista Boretti and Meghan Corso each took one shot on goal.

McDaniel (9-4) struck first with an 11th minute goal, and Hannah Schepers added a second-half hat-trick to secure the win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nina Fernandez made three saves in the contest. 

The Cardinals return to the pitch for another important Landmark battle on the road against Moravian on Saturday, October 20 at 4 p.m.
