WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University field hockey team swept the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week nominations after an impressive performance this past weekend. Sophomore midfielder Meghan Shallow was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week while freshman defender Grace Jung captured the Defensive Player of the Week nomination.
The Cardinals secured the top seed in the Landmark Field Hockey Championship with a 1-0 win over Elizabethtown on Saturday. Shallow scored the game-winning goal off of a penalty stroke, while Jung led the Cards defense to their fifth shutout of the season.
As the No. 1 seed, the Cards will host the University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference semifinal on Wednesday, October 31 at 4 p.m.
