Cardinals Receiving Votes in WBCA, Polls

WASHINGTON, D.C. - After posting its best start to a season since 2012-13, the Catholic University women's basketball team is receiving votes in both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Coaches Poll as well as the women's Top 25.

The Cardinals (7-0) are back in the WBCA poll for the first time since Nov. 21, 2017 when they were also receiving votes following a 2-0 start to the 2017-18 season with road wins over St. Mary's (Md.) and Coast Guard. They are listed in the poll for the first time since Feb. 20, 2017 when they were at No. 23 with a 22-3 record en route to their fourth NCAA tournament appearance in the last six years.

The 2012-13 Cardinals started the season with 14 consecutive wins en route to finishing 27-2 while winning the Landmark Conference championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship.

Catholic is coming off an impressive 72-65 road win over Haverford last Tuesday. The Fords entered the game receiving votes in the latest Top 25 Poll.

The Cards open a five-game homestand on Tuesday against former Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) rival Salisbury.
