WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Led by JoJo Parker and Tess Murphy, the Catholic University women's golf team shot a 384 team score to earn second place out of eight competing teams in the Susquehanna Invitational at Williamsport Country Club.
Landmark Conference foe Drew won the one-day invitational with the best team finish of 362, but the Cardinals beat other conference competition in Susquehanna (421) and Juniata (462).
Parker had the best day out of Cardinal golfers with a round score of 89. The +18 score tied her for third place out of 38 total golfers. It was the freshman's best round since an 87 score at the Revolutionary Collegiate Classic on October 14, 2018.
Murphy followed close behind with a 91 (+20) score. The sophomore placed tied for sixth as the other Catholic golfer in the top ten finishers.
Playing as individual golfers, freshman Olivia Brogan and Carolyn Mueller shot 98 and 106, respectively. Brogan's 98 (+27) was good for 15th and is her second-best round of her career, behind a 95 on the Sunday of the Revolutionary Collegiate Classic in October.
Catholic competes again next week against Landmark competition in the Goucher Spring Invitational in Phoenix, Md. The Cardinals will start play on Sunday, April 14 and conclude the two-day invitational on Monday, April 15 at Hillendale Country Club.
